The HDHomeRun streams the full-quality digital stream from the broadcaster or cable provider, ensuring that you get the highest quality possible, including 720p and 1080i HDTV when available.
Windows Media Center
Microsoft’s Windows Media Center is one of the most popular DVR applications – it’s included free with Windows Vista Home Premium and Ultimate, as well as the Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate, and Enterprise versions of Windows 7. The HDHomeRun also works with MCE 2005 and popular third-party DVR applications including BeyondTV, SageTV, and NextPVR.

Linux MythTV
MythTV is the leading DVR application for Linux and includes full HDHomeRun support. No kernel space drivers to install – just select HDHomeRun from the tuner list and run a channel scan.
Free Broadcast TV
Use an antenna to pick up the FREE broadcast digital TV (ATSC) available in your area – ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, PBS, and other networks. Unable to use an antenna? Connect your HDHomeRun directly to the incoming cable line to receive the unencrypted digital cable (“ClearQAM”) channels your cable provider offers. Use our channels page to see what ClearQAM channels are available from your cable provider.
Phone/Tablet Compatible
The standard InstaTV for iOS app can be used with a Windows PC running the InstaTV Server software to stream live and recorded TV from an HDHomeRun on iOS devices. InstaTV for iOS (Standard) is available from the iTunes App Store.
The InstaTV Pro for iOS app supports direct streaming from HDHomeRun devices on Android devices. More information is available in the InstaTV website. InstaTV Pro for iOS is available on the iTunes App Store. InstaTV Pro for iOS can also be used with the InstaTV Server software running on a Windows PC, which converts the stream into a lower-data-rate format that is more suitable for playback over wifi.The InstaTV Pro for iOS app is temporarily unavailable.
Elgato’s EyeTV app can be used with a Mac running the EyeTV software to stream live and recorded TV from an HDHomeRun on iOS devices. EyeTV is available from Elgato and the EyeTV app is available from the iTunes App Store.
